Who are you? The VP of Operations will lead and scale the operations function. This role requires a hands-on operator who enforces standards, manages metrics, and owns customer outcomes end-to-end. If you are highly metrics-driven, enforce accountability and operating discipline at all levels, and operate with urgency, structure, and attention to detail, this is a great opportunity to join our team.
What will you do? The VP of Operations will partner closely with the CEO to drive company strategy, enforce operating rigor, and ensure the organization runs clear metrics, structured routines, and accountability at every level.
Core Mandate
- Build and lead a metrics-driven, highly accountable operations organization
- Enforce structured management routines and operating discipline across all teams
- Deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience at scale
- Drive profitability through margin management, pricing discipline, and execution efficiency

Responsibilities:
Financial Performance
- Own operational P&L with a focus on gross margin and overall profitability
- Drive pricing, cost discipline, and efficiency improvements through data-driven analysis
- Establish and manage a KPI-driven operating model with real-time visibility into margin, service, coverage, and productivity
Operational Leadership
- Establish and enforce structured daily, weekly, and monthly operating cadences
- Lead all day-to-day brokerage operations with a focus on speed, reliability, and consistency
- Standardize and enforce SOPs to eliminate variability and enable scalable execution
- Build a predictable operating model through routine reviews (coverage, margin, service, exceptions)
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team with clear accountability
- Set performance standards and coach managers to lead through metrics
- Foster a culture of urgency, ownership, and disciplined execution
Technology & Process Optimization
- Drive effective use and continuous improvement of TMS and operational tools
- Implement automation and workflow improvements across operations and pricing
- Leverage data to improve decision-making, visibility, and scalability
Customer Experience
- Own end-to-end customer experience across all shipper accounts
- Enforce service standards for communication and issue resolution
- Drive on-time performance and rapid resolution of service failures
- Partner with sales on onboarding and ensure consistent post-sale execution
- Maintain key customer relationships and implement feedback loops to improve retention
Capacity Management
- Build, manage, and scale a high-quality, reliable carrier network while ensuring strong coverage performance across all lanes
- Deploy diverse capacity strategies to maintain service reliability
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and all applicable transportation regulations
- Oversee claims management, insurance processes, and service failure mitigation
- Proactively identify and manage operational and financial risks
Qualifications:
- 7 – 15+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation
- 3 – 5+ years in a senior operations leadership role with P&L responsibility
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance operations teams
- Deep understanding of brokerage market dynamics
- Strong financial and analytical acumen

Total Compensation Package:
- Competitive base salary
