What We're Looking For

Saltbox is a data-driven organization on an accelerating growth path. With growing locations and new products quickly coming to market, we’re looking for an entrepreneurial Business Operations Manager to build systems and implement tech-enabled solutions that transform and scale our day-to-day operations.

As a member of the Business Operations group (which comprises the location, fulfillment, and member operations teams), you’ll play an integral role in enabling those teams to scale their processes through problem diagnosis, system design, AI/automation, and integration of critical tooling.

How do you know if this role is for you? You are someone who seeks to deeply understand all aspects of our business operations, can turn the half baked thing into something useful for a larger audience, and has ability to work between the physical and technical worlds (aka atoms & bits).

This position is a remote role.

What You’ll Do

• Strikes a good balance between business acumen and the technical world: Work cross functionally with stakeholders from across the business to understand their operational needs, as well as interface with vendors/contractors who support our infrastructure.
• Technical enough to write light code, setup web hooks, APIs, query data, and talk data structure with our Product and Engineering teams
• Understands how and where to invest in operational efficiency: Design and build internal tooling to help our team do more with less as we scale.
• Is self-driven and thrives in a fast-paced environment: Develop scalable solutions that will function through rapid product iterations and business changes; continually adapt and update existing work streams to handle those changes.
• Is a structured, logical thinker: Design and execute the transformation of occasionally messy source data into robust and usable datasets.

Requirements

• 2 - 4 years experience in a Business Operations or similar role that required building technical solutions for the physical/built world, preferably in an operationally intensive environment
• Strong proficiency in SQL skills required (experience with PostgreSQL a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ongoing up-to-date knowledge of AI, IoT, and other innovative technologies
• BS degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. engineering, economics, finance, etc.) a plus
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines, Github, and command line a plus
