Job Summary: The Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for assembling and testing electrical and mechanical components to create high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, precision in work, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of Electrical and Mechanical Components:
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and schematics
  • Assemble electrical and mechanical components according to specifications
  • Install wiring, electrical components, and mechanical parts to ensure proper functionality
  • Quality Control:
  • Perform quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet established standards
  • Identify and rectify any defects or malfunctions in the assembly process
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve issues
  • Testing and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct functional tests on assembled products to verify proper operation
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
  • Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure products meet performance criteria
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made
  • Complete required documentation for each assembly job, including reports on defects and resolutions
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to address any design-related issues during assembly
  • Collaborate with other assembly technicians and production team members to meet production goals
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Provide feedback on assembly processes to improve efficiency and product quality
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and assembly techniques

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus
  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in assembly work
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in assembly processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy loads
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various tools and machinery.
  • Lift up 50 lbs
