Job Summary: The Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for assembling and testing electrical and mechanical components to create high-quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, precision in work, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

- Assembly of Electrical and Mechanical Components:
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and schematics
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components according to specifications
- Install wiring, electrical components, and mechanical parts to ensure proper functionality
- Quality Control:
- Perform quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet established standards
- Identify and rectify any defects or malfunctions in the assembly process
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve issues
- Testing and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct functional tests on assembled products to verify proper operation
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
- Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure products meet performance criteria
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made
- Complete required documentation for each assembly job, including reports on defects and resolutions
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to address any design-related issues during assembly
- Collaborate with other assembly technicians and production team members to meet production goals
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns
- Continuous Improvement:
- Provide feedback on assembly processes to improve efficiency and product quality
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and assembly techniques
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is a plus
- Proven experience in electrical and mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail and precision in assembly work
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in assembly processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy loads
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various tools and machinery.
