Slip Robotics builds automated systems that streamline logistics and warehouse operations. Following our Series B funding round, we are scaling rapidly and investing in strong financial infrastructure to support growth. We are transitioning from a lightweight financial stack to a more mature, process-driven accounting environment.
We’re looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, loves improving processes, and can build durable accounting operations as we scale.
What You'll Do
Manage the Accounting Operations
- Perform daily accounting activities including Accounts Payable in bill.com, Accounts Receivable in NetSuite, cash management in SVB, payroll accounting in Gusto, and general ledger maintenance.
- Initiate all monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver accurate financial statements within 7-10 days including credit card and bank account reconciliation and close in NetSuite.
- Prepare and book journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, inventory adjustments, and other balance sheet items.
- Code transactions for bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany accounts.
Support NetSuite Implementation & Systems
- Serve as the hands-on accountant supporting NetSuite SuiteSuccess Manufacturing Premium.
- Assist in sales operations support and new customer onboarding.
- Build and maintain saved searches, workflows, and reports.
- Ensure data integrity and support continuous process improvements across the finance tech stack.
Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting
- Assist in establishing and maintaining standard costing processes.
- Support inventory accounting, COGS reporting, and work closely with operations to reconcile variances.
- Participate in cycle counts and implement inventory controls in collaboration with Production Operations.
Compliance, Controls, & Reporting
- Maintain documentation of accounting policies, close checklists, and internal controls.
- Support annual audits, tax filings, SOX compliance responsibility and any other compliance requirements.
- Work with the part-time Controller on technical accounting issues as needed.
Cross-Functional Partnering
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Commerical teams to ensure accurate financial data flow.
- Assist in forecasting inputs by providing actuals data and variance analysis to the Director of Finance.
- Help drive process efficiency across purchasing, expense management, billing, and collections.
Scale the Accounting Function
- Identify gaps and propose solutions to improve accounting accuracy and automation.
- Help design the finance organization’s future workflows and support additional hiring over time.
- Take ownership of projects that strengthen financial infrastructure (e.g., workflow automation, policy creation).
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting + industry preferred).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, monthly close processes, and internal controls.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and an analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in hardware, robotics, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy businesses.
- Prior startup experience.
- CPA or CPA eligibility.
- Experience with standard costing or manufacturing workflows.
- Help build a high-impact accounting function during a pivotal growth stage.
- Work closely with leadership, including CFO, Controller, and Director of Finance.
