About The Role

Relay Payments is seeking an ambitious, solution-driven Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the month-end close process, reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and month-end financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and capable of working on an array of different projects.

  • Gain a deep understanding of the Relay Payments platform in order to monitor and properly account for the movement of customer funds onto and through the Relay balance sheet
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing schedules and reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly commentary, financial dashboards, month-end variances, and other supporting analysis
  • Support other departments with customer inquiries and requests
  • Assist with Relay’s travel and expenses, including assisting other team members and external parties through the travel booking process
  • Collaborate with different departments and vendors to streamline requests, spend, and budgeting on a monthly basis
  • Prepare customer reconciliations, pricing reconciliations, and propose solutions to customer inquiries and product issues
  • Coordinate and participate in other projects and perform ad-hoc duties as needed

About You

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in accounting or finance; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance strongly recommended
  • Big 4 experience a big plus, CPA preferred or in progress
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of discretion
  • Thorough, accurate, and seeks to understand and solve problems through logical reasoning
  • Strong organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships and work closely at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently, multi-task, and realign priorities as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online and Looker reporting tools
  • Willing to work a hybrid schedule on-site 3x/week at our ATL HQ across from The Battery
